WELCOME!

It is hard to believe that it was almost ten years ago I witnessed a CNC router in action for the very first time. I was fascinated with what I saw and simply had to have one! Although I had been in the creative end of the three dimensional sign business for most of my life I didn't really know what I would do with one - but I just knew it could do fantastic stuff.

Through extensive research and LOTS of hands-on practice I quickly found out that my MultiCam router was capable of just about anything imaginable. This journal will chronicle that journey to date and continue each week with two or three entries as I continue to explore just what is possible with this wonderful tool... -dan

No limits here!

I received a number of emails regarding the ceiling fan I showed in my previous post. Some were concerned about balance. The very nature of our MultiCam is that it is accurate even on irregularly shaped and dimensional projects. As long as the machine is set up correctly and the surface is machined to be true then the blades will come out the same thickness and size. I've been running the fan in our studio since just after we got our router - five years ago. It was one of my early projects.

The exciting thing about a CNC router is that there are truly no limits to what can be accomplished with it. With quality software like EnRoute design is relatively simple. And modern materials take away limitations. Materials like Precision Board are consistent all the way through.

Each day, even after five years I see more creative possibilities for the router. Believe me you haven't seen anything yet...
